The 2012 conference was a huge success! 72 attendees from 3 countries attended this years conference. Below you will find answers to some of the questions submitted at the conference along with a link to the conference presentations.
Q: Does the customer have access to his/her awards balance on line?
A: Your customer has access to the reward balance via CustomerConnect. CC has a configuration option to display the current rewards balance.
Q: I would like to see a list of SPOT employees.
A: Visit our "Meet the Staff" page on our web site.
Q: How much security do you suggest when using thin clients in the hosted environment?
A: Security should be handed the same whether you are using a windows based thin client or PC based client. Best practices require you to have a firewall, local security and antivirus running on all machines. You can review more details on our web site by reading the "SPOT PCI Implementation guide".
Q: Will you be improving the "Least used Department" Incentives feature to include customer history and not just the last visit usage?
A: The incentives program currently looks at the customers history when calculating the least used department and not the last visit. If you look at the configuration of your Incentive you will see the "Within the last" option. This can be set for a number of days or months and will calculate least used department used during the defined time period.
Q: What report will give us a list of items cleaned for a customer? Can it be exported?
A: The report you are looking for can be found in the Reports Gallery > Customer > "Customer Invoice Detail". This report can be exported using the reports screen export feature (to export select the piece of mail in the upper left hand corner of the screen).
Q: When a characters such as (*,#,!) are found in a HSL barcodes how do I put this through Assisted Assembly?
A: Currently we support these characters at detail but do not support them in Assisted Assembly. In a future build these characters will be supported.
Q: I would like a report to show an average price per piece that does not include VIP bags or other accessory type zero priced items.
A: Four reports exist and can be found in the Reports Gallery > Sales > "Incoming Summary - Revised", "Incoming Detail - Revised", "Outgoing Summary - Revised" and "Outgoing Detail - Revised" reports. These reports remove the piece counts of items that are priced at $0.00. This will include your VIP bags, belts, shoulder pads etc giving you a true revenue per piece for items .
Q: Need a report of what is due that day that has not cleared the conveyor.
A: The "Conveyor Waiting items" should provide what you are looking for. It can be found in the Reports Gallery > Conveyor.
Q: Is there a report that will provide how many and what customers are logging in to CustomerConnect?
A: Each time a customer logins to CustomerConnect it creates a CRM entry for that customer. The CRM entries report will provide the data you are looking for. It can be found in the Reports Gallery > Customer > CRM entries and includes the selection of a date range.
Q: We need a "Popup" to confirm the CSR is selecting the correct customer when detailing a new order.
A: You have a couple of options to assist you in the area of CSR's selecting the wrong customer at search. Please configure the following settings to assist in this search issue. Verify Store Setting > Search Setting > "Auto-Select Previous Customer" is not enabled. Verify Store Setting > Search Setting > "Disable Enter Key on Customer Search" option is enabled. Verify Store Settings > Search Settings > "Force Selection of Multiple Matches" is enabled. Each of these features will assist in preventing your staff from selecting the wrong customer.
Q: It would be nice if the Customer "Memos" would print on the Store Copy of the invoice and not the customer copy.
A: You have the option to remove any memos from the "Visit" invoice template when the customer drops off an order. You have the option of specifying a specific invoice template at a workstation, assisted assembly bay or at automated assembly. This will allow you to create and print an invoice that do not contain customer memos.
Q: How do we assure we get all communications such as tips, newsletters and other email correspondence from SPOT?
A: If you are a hosted customer please update your contact information under Setup > Location Settings > Company and Store locations. Include your corporate and store email addresses so that everyone in your operation will receive emailed information. If you are hosted or standalone please forward any change or new contact information to Terryw@SPOTpos.com and she will update your submitted contact information.
